Hello!

I know that this blog may now be close to death, so here is a possible last post - imagine an early morning with bugles and khaki!

One of the essays I wrote for VEMS has, after more work, been accepted for publication in a journal that should be out in June, and online next year. It's the one about the Norse kingdoms in England and the way the used locals as client kings at first - I'm sure you all remember as we all read everybody's essay VERY carefully for the seminars...... :-)

And as a bonus my uni will give me $200 for having it published in a refereed journal! Partly as it's good for their prestige, and the government gives them $2000 (I think) for each article a member of staff has published so they obviously want to promote publication as much as possible!

Alex is now officially my external supervisor and the university will bring her here next May for a conference and to give me some in-person supervision, so it will be great to see her again.

So I hope that everyone is well and coping ok with Uppsala withdrawl symptons, and Europe withdrawl symptoms for some of us! Uppsala was a fantastic experience and I hope that we all manage to stay in touch over the years.
